Digital Electronics Sites

Here is a compiled list of resources for digital electronics. I will be adding to this list as often as possible:

ARM

The LPC2000 Yahoo Group - a wealth of information behind the posts, also many schematics in the file section.

The AT91SAM Yahoo Group - the counterpart to the LPC2000 Yahoo group.

μC Hobby - A new and growing resource center for microcontrollers and related digital electronics topics. Along with the blog for general AVR and ARM projects, they have links to several other solid project blogs and a set of how-to’s.

ARM Microcontroller Wiki with scattered but useful information.

LPC210x ARM7 Microcontroller Tutorial - a quick tutorial (partly in assembly) to get you jump started with the LPC2106 chip.

Martin Thomas’s ARM Project Page with projects covering many of the peripherals ARM microcontrollers have.

Free e-book about the Phillips LPC21xx ARM Microcontrollers, I haven’t read it yet.

SkyEye - an open source simulator supporting the ARM7TDMI and other ARM architectures. Looks like a handy tool but I haven’t tried it yet.

LPC2146 Library for Eagle, including the script used to generate it.

For JTAG Wiggler information, see the dedicated pages on this site.

AVR

AVR Freaks. An established community with forums and a project database. Responses on the forums come pretty fast. Also includes a large parametric table of available AVR microcontrollers, and a database of retailers for chips, development boards, etc.

Digital Electronics

DatasheetArchive.com, pretty good datasheet site in my opinion. Haven’t had any trouble with it, but contact me if you know of a better one.

More datasheet links from wikipedia.

List of the 7400 series logic chips on Wikipedia. Brief statement of their function as well.

A straight-forward page on several different types of memory and how to use them. Appears to be a part of some slideshow.

Information on SPI and I2C serial interfaces.

A surface mount soldering guide that covers several different methods using a soldering iron, with pictures.

This is Circuit Simulator written in Java. It runs as an applet. This is a great program, and I highly recommend it- even if you’re just messing around. It supports many components, and also has a few popular logic chips. More importantly, you can insert virtual probes and observe the circuit in a virtual oscilloscope. There are a bunch of pre-built circuits in the menu, in case you’re lazy.
